A matter of national laughter

Chintito

Listen, listen, o' people, Listen with heart and soul
Is it not a matter of national laughter, that Jamaat will honour 'freedom fighter'?

No one knows which country they fought for
It must not have been in unish-sho ekattor
Is it not a matter of national laughter, that Jamaat will honour 'freedom fighter'?

This attempt to confuse all and sundry is a sinister plot no doubt
It could have been proposed by any from among their many a tout
Is it not a matter of national laughter, that Jamaat will honour 'freedom fighter'?

During the glorious war of our liberation they were collaborators
They hunted down muktijoddha with candle, hurricane and torch
Is it not a matter of national laughter, that Jamaat will honour 'freedom fighter'?

They raped and they killed, and they maimed Bangalee in lakhs
This struggle for people's self emancipation, they said, sucks
Is it then not a matter of national laughter, that Jamaat will honour 'freedom fighter'?

With the Pakistan Army by their side, they had brandished shark fins
Four decades gone by, they have not apologised for their carnal sins
Is it not a matter of national laughter, that Jamaat will honour 'freedom fighter'?

Villains of 14 December, they picked up Bangla's luminous sons from their home
Desperate plea of wife, children, and parents were brushed aside by these loam
Is it not a matter of national laughter, that Jamaat will honour 'freedom fighter'?

They abetted and protected razakars, al badr, al shaams; saintly names they tainted
For nine months, and later 34 years, their anti-liberation phantasm they maintained
Is it not a matter of national laughter, that Jamaat will honour 'freedom fighter'?

They make mockery of the pardon arising from Bangabandhu's magnanimity
Though not forgiven at all, killers and rapists too blow the two-finger insolent siti
Is it not a matter of national laughter, that Jamaat will honour 'freedom fighter'?

Their politics was banned for being based on lies, vice and criminal guys
But they returned without remorse on the shoulder of their post-1975 bhais
Is it not a matter of national laughter, that Jamaat will honour 'freedom fighter'?

Now that the long hand of the law is catching up with their felony
Turning their tail, and their eyes, they are resorting to utter baloney
Is it not a matter of national laughter, that Jamaat will honour 'freedom fighter'?

Listen, listen, o' people, Listen with heart and soul
Indeed it is NOT only a matter of national laughter
Rather also one of great regret, that Jamaat dares on Bangla's soil
To ponder insulting freedom fighters' toil
Shame on us!
