Mangroves in Drought

A perfect winding road to lead to the root of a century old tree
Winding through roots jutted out of the ground wanting to breathe.

The monsoons left the lands, fertile and mud-strewn
A lingering fog in front of a forest -wild.

The waters will rush back once again, bring with and fill the marshes again
The mangrove will stand tall and still -waiting for the next drought
